The third annual “Get Reel About Prevention” Fishing Tournament happens on Friday, Nov. 1. This free fishing tournament is a fun event to raise awareness about suicide prevention, substance misuse, and domestic violence, as well as showcase local resources. The event will be held in the grass area in front the MCX Main Exchange with check-in at 6 am, fishing from 7 am-1 pm, and weigh-ins/prizes from noon-2 pm.

Fishing Tournament

The tournament will host categories for red drum and speckled trout.  Patrons will be able to fish on Station or off Station at their favorite fishing spots as long as applicable state and federal regulations are followed.

Additionally, we will have a blanket license for the event that will allow patrons without a fishing license to fish on the installation. If you choose to fish outside the installation, you will need your own fishing license. Prizes will include individual prizes for each fish category, USMC Ball fund cash prizes for the most unit participation and door prizes.

Any authorized patron can register for the event, but prizes will only be awarded to active duty, veterans, and their dependents.

The event will also feature a Wellness Fair from 1100-1400 and the entire community is invited to attend. There will be food trucks, music, and Community Partners hosting fun activities and games with door prizes.
