Embrace Transition with M4LN Support

Transitioning from military service can be challenging and often requires adapting your plans. Nolan McCammon's story showcases how the Marine for Life Network (M4LN) can transform unexpected challenges into positive opportunities.

McCammon’s transition from the Marine Corps came sooner than he had anticipated because of an unexpected change in his timeline, offering him the chance to embrace new beginnings. As he adjusted to the realities of civilian life and launched his job search, he felt a blend of excitement and determination, ready to tackle the future.

Following a referral from his leadership, McCammon connected with the M4LN for help with his job search and to explore available resources in the Louisville, Ky., area. He filled out a request form online, detailing his needs, and soon received a follow-up from Peter Hickson, his M4L representative.

Hickson builds strong connections with military-friendly employers in the local area. To assist McCammon, he leveraged his contacts with the United Parcel Service (UPS) human resources (HR) team, helping him secure an interview that quickly led to a job as a package handler on UPS airplanes. This position provided him with a steady part-time income and the flexibility to pursue further education or transition to a full-time role in the future.

Transitioning from military service can feel overwhelming, but with readiness, flexibility, and the support of the M4LN, you can embrace change and thrive in your new journey.
