As Marines, one of the most important rights you fight to defend is the right to vote. Recent elections have been decided by a margin of victory of less than 0.1%, so every vote truly does matter. Thanks to the Absentee Voting Process, you can make sure your vote is counted even if deployed.
Who can vote absentee?
In order to vote absentee you first need to make sure you qualify. Any Marine or family member who is stationed away from the area in which they’re registered to vote is entitled to an absentee ballot. This doesn’t mean you have to be stationed abroad. You could simply be in a different state or travelling on Election Day.
If you’ve recently moved, you don’t need to vote absentee. Just register at your local election office with your new address.
