Powerboat Rental Training and Quiz
To ensure safe and enjoyable experiences while renting a powerboat, proper training is necessary. At the Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) Marina, our customers must obtain a license before renting any pontoon or ski boat.
Here's how you can obtain your license:
- First, watch the training videos provided below. These videos cover important safety guidelines, operational procedures, and other essential information for your boating experience.
- After watching the videos, complete the online quiz when prompted.
- Please enter your first name and a valid personal email to receive your test results promptly. This allows us to verify results during your scheduled bay check. If you don't see the email, check your junk/spam folder or call us at (808) 254-7666. Government emails may not be accepted.
- After your quiz, you will receive a second email to schedule your bay check. During this check, you will ride around the bay to demonstrate your skills and knowledge of safe boating practices. A non-refundable Boat License Fee of $30 must be paid in full before the bay check.
- If you do not pass the quiz, you will need to retake the test. We recommend watching the training videos to better prepare before attempting the test again.
By following these steps, you'll be on your way to obtaining your powerboat rental license at the MCBH Marina.
