Powerboat rental training and exam

To ensure safe and enjoyable experiences while renting a powerboat, proper training is necessary. At the Marine Corps Base Hawaii Marina, our customers must obtain a license before renting any pontoon or ski boat.

Here's how you can obtain your license:

  1. First, watch the training videos provided below. These videos cover important safety guidelines, operational procedures, and other essential information for your boating experience.
  2. After watching the videos, take an online exam. Please be sure to fill your first name and a working email to receive your test results promptly, so we can verify them upon your scheduled bay check.
  3. Finally, after your quiz, you will be sent a link to the email you provided to schedule your bay check. During this check, you will ride around the bay to demonstrate your skills and knowledge of safe boating practices. A non-refundable Boat License Fee of $30 must be paid in full before the bay check.

By following these steps, you'll be on your way to obtaining your powerboat rental license at the MCB Hawaii Marina.
