Introducing the Marine Corps culture to everyone
An orientation program designed to meet the needs of Marines and their entire family: spouses, children, and extended family members. Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.) introduces the Marine Corps culture and lifestyle, thereby increasing participants' ability to avoid problems and allowing them to become more self-sufficient. L.I.N.K.S. also highlights the many military and community resources and benefits available to Marines and their families.
Marines
L.I.N.K.S. for Marines provides every Marine essentials to make the most of their military journey. Each session focuses on the military lifestyle, benefits, services, and connections that enable Marines and their families to take charge of their military journey. The resources and information they receive during this training aid them in achieving personal and family readiness throughout the mission, life, and career events. Subject matter experts are invited to facilitate each of these discussions.
Spouses
Want to know more about the Marine Corps? L.I.N.K.S. is an interactive acculturation program for Marine Corps life and the local installation. Participants learn about Corps history and rank, local installation resources, services and benefits, military pay, separation and deployment, career and transition options, communication styles, investing in the community, and Marine Corps traditions. L.I.N.K.S. is an excellent opportunity to meet other Marine Corps spouses, get involved in your community, and learn all that military life has to offer.
Parents and Extended Family
L.I.N.K.S. for Marine Corps Parents and Extended Family Members focus on providing information to parents and extended family members that help them understand the Marine corps' culture and lifestyle. This class can go a long way to alleviate concerns and confusion parents, and extended family members have about the Marine Corps lifestyle.
Kids and Teens
L.I.N.K.S. for kids and teens provide age-appropriate information and activities to assist the young military community in thriving in the Marine Corps lifestyle. Participants learn to become more resilient, look forward to new beginnings, cope with farewells, and embrace experiences they may encounter.
